After we passed the Lions Gate Bridge another announcement was made over the public address system saying that we would be waiting for additional passengers whose flights arrived late. The boat then sat outside of the harbor for about a half hour, (meanwhile the Sun Princess and the Volendam sailed past us) until a speedboat came to the side of the boat where passengers and their baggage were loaded through a lower level hatch. (Above is a picture of that boat.) I was jealous because the speedboat trip looked like an enjoyable adventure anyone would pay extra for. We then sailed away. The first nights dinner had assigned seating, but formal clothing was not required.
